What does it mean to provide a multidimensional approach?

What it means to provide a multidimensional approach would mean to use assessment skills and interventions to help the client overcome short or long-term health issues from a chronic endocrine disorder. The goal of treatment is to maintain and prevent complications that are related to the disease. Since each client is different and unique, the interventions and goals for each client must be individualized in order to meet their needs (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2020).

Provide at least three examples of how the care team can meet the patient and the family’s needs?

Three examples of how the care team can meet the patients and family’s needs include providing education and family education about the disorder and treatment, obtain a cultural assessment in order to identify the needs for treatment and a plan, and assess the coping skills and provide support for the client and family. Each of these is important because they will help the client and their loved ones deal with the chronic disease and as well as meet the needs of the client. These three examples will fulfill Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

List at least three care team members and how are they involved in providing multidimensional care?

Three care team members that are involved with endocrine disorders would include (but not limited to) are endocrinologists, who specialize in identifying and treating problems related to the endocrine system. A dietician would be beneficial in the plan of care to make sure the client is getting all the essential nutrients they need to function; as well as specific diets that the client will need to adhere to when they are discharged. Lastly, social work is an important care team member that’s involved in client care. Social work and OT would be very useful because they make sure the client’s needs are met. OT would make sure that they have all the devices they need to maintain their ADLs. Social work will continuously check-in to make sure the client is receiving appropriate care and if they have any needs if they don’t feel comfortable asking the care team. There are many other care teams that are beneficial but these are a few that need to be required for disorders that affect the endocrine system.
