· Identify the P.R.I.C.E. element you feel is your greatest strength. Provide an example of why you feel that element is your greatest strength.
Raised in a Catholic, Hispanic household respect was ingrained into me very early on in life. We were taught to always respect and take care of the elders in the family. To this day respect is at the top of my list when it comes to helping, teaching, and caring for others. It warms my heart when I get compliments from other parents about children and from patients.
· Identify the P.R.I.C.E. element you feel you need most to improve. How could you work on improving this?
Engagement is an area I struggle with as I am a classic introvert. Using the online format for school the last year and half has not helped me with this issue. I tend to disengage in this format and find it hard to concentrate.

I enjoy taking care of people. I used to take care of the other children in my Sunday school class and my classmates in school. I helped my mother in taking care of my maternal grandmother. She moved in when she could no longer take care of herself. I also single-handedly took care of my junior brother when he was admitted into a hospital and my mother was not around. I have always played the role of a nurse in my school dramas. Here in the United States, I became a Certified Nurse Assistant. Nothing makes me as happy as when clients call the Agency I work for and request for me to be sent to work for them. When I am dismissed from work, I go home knowing that I made my client happy. I always try to do my best for my clients. When I help my client, I feel that I’m helping myself.
The academic and practical knowledge that I am acquiring will help me to be a respectful listener to my client. I will also be patient and alert so as to respond more appropriately to my clients’ needs. My attitude to my client will make the client trust me. I will respect and protect the trust. I will do to my client what I would like to be done to me. Apart from my caregiving job, I am an accomplished cook, especially in African dishes. I hope to entertain my classmates before we disperse.
The P.R.I.C.E element that is my greatest strength is the core element. I take a great interest in caring for people. Just as I share in people’s joy, so do I share in peoples problems. I always want to give a helping hand. In the nursing homes where I have worked, I have always cared for residents who are not assigned to me whenever the need arises. I either take them to the restroom or empty urinary bags. To me, all the residents are to be cared for. No resident should feel left out.
The P.R.I.C.E element which I need most to improve upon is the professional element. Now that my set is moving on to the practical part of our learning, I need to be very attentive and very observant so as to get the detail of the demonstrations. When I get it, it will show that I have been trained to do the job. My work will be of a high standard which is my goal for going to Herzing University.
