Nutrition Research Rubric
Educated consumers must separate opinion from facts in nutrition research before they make
dietary changes. In this assignment, students will investigate a controversial nutrition issue and
summarize a research study published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal that supports their
argument in support of diet behavior. Students may choose the topic of the nutrition
controversy, explain why nutrition experts do not agree on the issue, describe both sides of the
controversy, build an argument that resolves the controversy, and provide support for your
argument with nutrition research.
