Prompt:  In the past few chapters we have focused on ancient sport, the ancient Olympics, the modern Olympic games and sporting behavior and ethics. As we move forward through the content, we will cover race, ethnicity, gender and social class in sport.  All are considerations that impact the modern Olympic games. Coming this summer 2021, the Olympics are being held in Tokyo, summer 2024 in Paris, and summer 2028 will take place in Los Angeles. 

The last Los Angeles games was one of the only to be considered economically successful…why?  What was the reason for this success?

The modern Olympic Games have also had a history of scandal within the International Olympic Committee.  The USA Today website article mentions just one of the many scandals in history originating from the IOC. With your suggestions for the success of the Olympics mentioned above, what might need to be done to prevent further scandals?  (Again, be specific please.)
